Allergies, Medical Conditions & Medication

We are committed to the safety of our students. Please speak to the office staff regarding any allergy or medical concerns.

Some members of our school community are highly allergic and cannot have contact with the following foods:

  • Peanuts

  • Nuts

  • Tree nuts (e.g., pistachios, walnuts, almonds, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts.

To ensure the safety of all staff and students, kindly refrain from sending these food or drink items.

Additionally, some members of our school community have extreme sensitivities to certain smells and scents. Exposure to perfumes or scented products can trigger serious health reactions in individuals with asthma, allergies, migraines, or chemical sensitivities. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students, staff, and visitors. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this important reminder at home.

It is critical that we are informed about any special medication conditions such as bee or peanut allergies, asthma, or seizures, so our staff can be prepared in case of an emergency. If your child needs medication at school or has anaphylactic allergies, please complete and submit the appropriate medical/consent forms to the school. You can contact the main office at 613-966-8186. These forms do require a physician's signature.

On rare occasions, school personnel are asked to administer medications, such as antibiotics or pain medication to students. Authorization forms, including one which needs to be signed by your physician, are necessary for such requests.

All medication must be provided in a clearly labeled pharmacy container that includes the child's name, the physician's name, the medication name, and the dosage (quantity and frequency).
